uThukela Estuary and Marine Protected Area - Management Plan
Phelamanga has been appointed to assist with the Public Participation for the uThukela MPA Management Plan.
It is a requirement of the National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act (NEM:PAA, Section 39(2)) that each Protected Area has a management plan to guide the development and management of the area to meet the purpose for which it was declared.
The uThukela MPA Management Plan is currently being refined and updated to guide the long-term implementation and management of the Marine Protected Area.
The plan requires input and partnership with key government authorities and stakeholders.
